How to convince my parents to let me have a cat?

Ask your mom why specifically she doesn't want a cat. Once you know her reasons you can come up with a counterargument. But, don't whine or be a pest. If she still says no you will have to accept it. Maybe she would rather have another dog instead or maybe she needs a break from pets all together.
