Brown discharge... Why?

I was supposed to have my period last week but didn't (I am only 15 and not sexually active) I am have brown discharge currently and I looked up what it means and it normally happens after your period to clean you out. But I didn't get it at all. I got my first period in April when I was 14. Is it possible I missed my period this month? Is there any other reason this could happen?
