Cramps, spotting, period not starting exact day of inactive pill?

I've been on birth control since April, so 3 months. I never really had spotting before when I first started taking it. (Im taking Giovani, because my pharmacy wont give me regular yaz.) I just finished my last pack, and started my new one and like always my period will go over a few days. My period was completely over 3 days ago, but today I have cramps and spotting! I never missed a pill, and I take it a the exact time every day if not a few minutes more or less. Is this normal? Is this just a symptom, and if so what were your expeirence on how long the spotting lasted? My boyfriend, who I haven't seen in 6 months, is coming up soon and I really want to not have spotting. Total mood killer.
