My husband and I are thinking of going to santorini in greece for a holiday can anyone suggest which part?

We do not want a noisy part, maybe someone could suggest a hotel and which area we should stay. Also i would like to know if its expensive. We would also like details on car hire, restaurants, We have also been thinkng about Sardinia, we would love some advice. thank you.
